A full range of 18 teas from traditional English Breakfast to Vanilla Mint and Oolong refresh you in the traditional tea room. Visit the adjoining emporium for local arts and crafts on two floors. In the evening, if you choose, you can catch live music in the lounge – all minutes from Wake Forest homes for sale.

  2. Blissful Journey Day Spa – 114 West Corbin Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278
Blissful Journey Day Spa is where you want to rejuvenate and revitalize after a day of looking at Hillsborough homes for sale. It has one of the fullest selections of any spa in the Triangle. Choose a full suite of services to cut, texture, color, and treat your hair. Blu is famous for its blowouts! Plus, the salon staff will cheerfully accommodate your entire ladies' night party – just ask.

  5. Tanger Outlets - 4000 Arrowhead Blvd., Mebane, NC 27302

Six Spots in the Triangle for the Perfect Picnic

Triangle Living Picnic Spots

After a busy week showing Raleigh homes for sale, many of our REALTORS® enjoy spending time outdoors. Good news: On top of its world-class amenities and economy, the Triangle has protected plenty of green spaces for residents to explore.

With National Picnic Month in July, it's a perfect time to visit them.

You'll find the Triangle's great cities are dotted with municipal parks. Not only that, but a number of state parks and other preserved areas are waiting for you. You can stay close to your neighborhood or make a day of it in a forest glen or mountainous vista.

Let's look at some of the best places to picnic all throughout the Triangle:

  1. Pullen Park – 520 Ashe Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27606
In Raleigh, you'll happen upon beautiful Pullen Park, established in 1887. Sprawling across 66 acres, Pullen is known for being the first public park in North Carolina. It includes a carousel, mini-train, aquatic center, arts center, and cafe. There are plenty of shelters to shield you from the sun during your picnic. Of course, you are always welcome to spread a blanket on the grass.

  2. William B. Umstead State Park – North Harrison Avenue (at I-40 270), Cary, NC 27513
Cary homes for sale are just a few miles from famous William B. Umstead State Park. It is cheered for its extensive network of trails well-loved by hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians. The landscape is dotted with three man-made lakes, any of which provide a picturesque lakeside view for your picnic. Fishing is available on all three lakes, too.

  3. Jordan Lake State Recreation Area – 558 Beaver Creek Road, Apex, NC 27502
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is a short distance from Apex homes for sale. An undeveloped 14,000-acre reservoir is the centerpiece of this unspoiled land. As you visit, you'll have the chance to see bald eagles and osprey. Not just a wonderful setting for picnics, it offers everything from primitive camping to RV hookups for longer stays.

  4. Sarah P. Duke Gardens – 420 Anderson Street, Durham, NC 27708
On the beloved campus of Duke  University – a leading reason to choose Durham homes for sale – stands the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. These lush, manicured grounds will provide pleasant surroundings including a koi pond, butterfly garden, azalea court, and much more. Handicapped parking and accessible features are widely available.

  5. Historic Occoneechee Speedway Trail – 320 Elizabeth Brady Road, Hillsborough, NC 27278
Historic Occoneechee Speedway Trail offers you a chance to look in on the storied past of NASCAR racing. This trail loops around the remnants of an old NASCAR track where racing pioneers like Richard Petty once performed. The track is now slowly being reclaimed by nature. It's a nice way to get away (but not too far away!) after choosing Hillsborough homes for sale.

  6. North Carolina Botanical Gardens – 100 Old Mason Farm Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517
Courtesy of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the North Carolina Botanical Gardens will delight you with rich displays of blooming flowers, nature trails, and unique sights like the Forest Theatre – a stone amphitheater built into the hillside in 1916. Don't miss out on the adjoining Battle Park for your picnic a stone's throw from Chapel Hill homes for sale.

With help from Howard Perry and Walston, finding your dream home here in the Triangle can be a picnic, too. Our real estate experts bring you years of experience navigating home purchases. Our insight and customer service will make the whole process easier.
